Adventures in Killing Plants: Dried Figs

With the next batch of figs from our tree, I decided to try dehydrating them. I picked a bundle from the tree and wash and cut of the stems. Then I either halved or quartered the figs before putting them with fig interior facing upwards. I used a temperature setting of 125 F on my Nesco dehydrator and dried the figs for 16 hrs. The fruit turned out leathery and sweet!

There will be a second crop of figs this fall to try out more fig recipes.
